age-related differences in webpage usability

QUALIFYING EXAM PAPER
To incorporate the field of UX into my graduate studies, I am currently conducting and writing a literature review about how eye-tracking methodology can be used to study age-related differences in webapge usability.

WHAT ARE "QUALS?"

As part of my graduate program at the University of Albany, I am required to complete a departmental qualifying examination before writing my dissertation. This examination, informally known as “quals,” is a demonstration that the graduate student is prepared and qualified to perform independently and professionally within their area of specialization. Specifically, my department requires a comprehensive literature review on a topic that is related—but not redundant—to our own research topics. My own research uses eye-tracking methodology to examine proofreading ability, reading comprehension, and individual differences in visual cognition. Therefore, I am choosing a quals topic that blends my research interests with my career aspirations.
